ARTIST STATEMENT
Time, transformative states, and material processes are recurring themes in Nikki Middlemiss’s drawing-based practice. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and artist-run centres across the country, including in a solo exhibition at the Kelowna Art Gallery in 2017. Nikki exhibited new work at the McClure Gallery (Montreal) in December 2021 and at the Art Gallery of Regina (Saskatchewan) in 2022.
Nikki received a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa in 1999. She has lived in Montreal since 2000, and very close to the St. Lawrence river in the Verdun neighbourhood since 2015.
